Method / Issue: Title 1: ART in PMTCT Presenter: Professor Hoosen Coovadia (15 Minutes) Professor of HIV/AIDS Research, University of KwaZulu-Natal HIV Management, Reproductive Health Research Unit, University of the Witwatersrand This presentation will focus on ART in PMTCT, early diagnosis and HAART in young children, lessons learnt 2007-2009, facing new challenges and highlighting key opportunities and emerging research agendas.
Results / Comments: Title 2: HAART, Young children and their HIV positive caregivers Presenter: Ms Tamsen Rochat (15 Minutes) Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies, University of KwaZulu Natal This presentation will focus on emerging issues around young children and their caregivers on HAART including strategies to get children on to treatment earlier and support and disclosure for HIV positive mothers with negative children.
Discussion: Title 3: Developmental challenges for young negative children Presenter: Professor Alan Stein (15 Minutes) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Oxford University This presentation will focus on the developmental challenges facing young HIV negative children with HIV positive caregivers and emerging agendas for intervention development.
