Aim: Abstract: The HIV prevalence has been increasing sharply in many Asian
countries, including China. The most updated published and unpublished
studies on HIV prevalence in over 60 cities and the HIV incidence from some
cohorts, as well as the risk factors and interventions of concern in China
will be reviewed. Examples of how health theories can longitudinally predict
behaviors and how interventions are evaluated will be illustrated. Issues
social environment, including cultural aspects, stigmatisation, bisexually
and capacity of service providers will be discussed. Recommendations on
interventions and research
agenda will also be given.
