Aim: Background:
Ethnoracial communities in Canada have higher rates of HIV relative to the general population. HIV stigma has been identified as a barrier to HIV prevention, care and treatment in these communities. This presentation examines how different forms of data used in evaluating HIV-stigma reduction interventions in these communities contributed to understandings of stigma.

Method / Issue: We collected data from 35 PHAs and 31 community leaders from the Asian, Black, and Latino communities in Toronto, Canada using pre- and post-intervention surveys and focus groups, activity logs, and review of Facebook discussions. Changes in, experiences of, and ways of understanding stigma were the focus of data analysis.

Results / Comments: Statistically significant pre-to-post intervention changes in internalized and enacted stigma were found. Discussions documented from focus groups, Facebook, and activity logs contributed nuanced and in-depth understandings of stigma experiences, changes in thinking and attitudes, and the influence of the interventions to the knowledge based on statistical results.

Discussion: Our study demonstrated the contribution of a methodologically diverse approach to building knowledge about a complex experience such as HIV stigma. Further, it allowed analysis at the intrapersonal, interpersonal, and community levels facilitating ontological and epistemological coherence in understanding the lived experience of stigma
